Based on their insights of US political system, the three speakers analyzed the reason why Trump won the election, introduced the evolution of trade policies by successive US administrations, and talked on US trade policy trends from different perspectives.
The speakers talked specifically about the anti-globalization ideas put forward by Trump in his campaign, including re-negotiation of NAFTA, defining China as trade manipulator, etc., and the real influence of those campaign promises under the current US political system.
Audience from Chinese companies voiced their concern on issues such as restrictions on Chinese investment in USA, anti-dumping policy by USA after Trump’s election. The speakers addressed those concerns from legal and political perspectives.
