On March 9, 2017, a delegation led by Mr. Wang Chengjie, the Secretary-General of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission(“CIETAC”) , visited Jingtian & Gongcheng. The delegation and lawyers from Jingtian & Gongcheng’s dispute resolution practice had a pleasant discussion on topics of interests in the areas of arbitration.

During the meeting, the delegation and JTGC lawyers discussed the latest development and trends of arbitration service against the background of Chinese capital’s globalization and international arbitration organizations’ access to China. At the request of Mr. Wang, JTGC’s arbitration practitioners offered their opinions and advices on topics such as CIETAC’s arbitration rules and case management from the perspectives of arbitration counsels and arbitrators.

Mr. Wang appreciated JTGC’s support to CIETAC and delivered a very positive response to the lawyers’ comments and advices. He also introduced the latest development and reform measures of CIETAC, including CIETAC’s globalization deployment underway, and the innovation measures being implemented with regard to case management, methods of hearings and informationization.

At the end of the meeting, both JJTGC and theCIETAC delegation shared their interests in jointly improving China’s arbitration service by further strengthening the exchange within the arbitration community.

The delegation from CIETAC also included Mr. Gu Yan, Director of Registration and Consultation Division, Ms. Jiao Yani, Director of Domestic Case Division, Mr. Jia Kun, Director of Business Development Division, and Ms. Zhang Xia and Ms. Zhou Siyan from Business Development Division.

Partners of Jingtian & Gongcheng including Zhang Hongjiu, Wu Lei, Dong Chungang, Yang Ming, and Hu Ke joined the discussion.
