Mr. Guoqing Li graduated from Peking University School of Law with an LL.B. degree.  He also obtained an LL.M. degree from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and a Doctor of Law degree from Peking University School of Law.

 

Mr. Li worked for Hogan Lovells and Mayer Brown JSM in their Beijing / Hong Kong offices as senior associate and counsel, respectively, advising on multiple IPOs on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange as well as cross-border investments and mergers and acquisitions. In 2011, Mr. Li joined Jingtian & Gongcheng as a partner, advising PRC companies (and underwriters) on their overseas listings in Hong Kong, the US and other international financial markets.  Mr. Li is also experienced in representing issuers in domestic IPOs on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges.  Mr. Li is recognized by the Ministry of Justice of China as one of the “One Thousand Leading Lawyers with Cross-Border Practices”. 

 

In the area of M&A and private equity, Mr. Li advises Chinese companies in their PE financings.  He also advises reputable domestic and international investors in their acquisitions and PE investments in China, representing them in due diligence, structure design, negotiations and legal documentation. 

 

Mr. Li is admitted to practice in the People’s Republic of China and the State of New York. He is a native Mandarin speaker and is fluent in English.
