Capital from China is investing overseas on a large scale, and Africa and Latin America have become the new destinations. Just recently, Jingtian & Gongcheng jointly sponsored a seminar on Investing in Africa and Latin America with Mayer Brown JSM. Over 200 professionals from investment, business and legal sectors actively participate in the event.
The seminars are held on March 1 and 2 in Beijing (investing in Africa) and Shanghai (investing in Latin America). Dai Guanchun, partner of Jingtian & Gongcheng, based on his over 10-year experience of serving Chinese companies to invest abroad, made a keynote speech titled “New Factoring Influencing China’s Overseas Investment”. Partner from Mayer Brown’s London, Paris, Hong Kong, New York and Brazil offices delivered speeches on topics of “regulatory legal framework”, “designing investment structure with bilateral agreements”, etc.
Partner of Jingtian & Gongcheng Mr. Dong Chungang, Secretary-General of Hong Kong International Arbitration Center Ms. Chiaan Bao, and London Court of International Arbitration – Mauritius International Arbitration Center Mr. Ndanga Kamau conducted in-depth discussion on “key issues in disputes resolution”.
The seminar also invited counsels general and commercial counsels from Kenya, Mexico, Brazil and Chile to have direct communications with the delegates.
