One June 24, All China Lawyers Association officially published in Beijing B&R Country Report on Legal Environment and announced the founding of B&R cross-boarder lawyers talent pool, and signed memorandum of legal services with lawyers associations in India, Laos, Mongolia, Poland and Thailand.
Wang Junfeng, Chairman of All China Lawyers Association, and relevant government officials from Ministry of Justice, NDRC and Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the meeting and delivered speeches. The B&R construction involves over 60 countries in Asia, Europe and Africa. Lawyers from 14 B&R countries including Greece, Hungary, Israel, Malaysia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Serbia and Thailand attended the meeting and held dialogues with their Chinese counterparts so as to promote and drive the cooperation and communication between lawyers in B&R countries to a higher level.
Partner of Jingtian & Gongcheng Mr. Zhang Hongjiu, deputy director of the foreign affairs committee of All China Lawyers Association was invited to the event. He gave an excellent speech on the prospect of the communication and cooperation between lawyers in B&R countries. (The speech was delivered in English, and Chinese here is just for reference.) In his speech, he shared his thoughts in three aspects: 1. Proposal of the Belt & Road (B&R) Initiative. 2. Prospects of the joint economic development and cooperation of B&R countries. 3. Prospects of professional exchange and cooperation of lawyers in B&R countries, finally but most importantly, 8 specific implementing suggestions.
After the speech, Mr. Zhang interacted with foreign lawyers and answered their questions.
Also invited is partner of Jingtian & Gongcheng Mr. Wu Jiejiang. Together with Maythawee Sarathai and Kesara Summacarava, lawyers from Mayer Brown JSM’s Thailand office, he wrote the Thailand section of B&R Country Report on Legal Environment
Jingtian & Gongcheng is willing to join forces with the lawyers associations, law firms and lawyers in B&R countries and jurisdictions, to jointly build, share and provide high quality professional legal services so as to ensure the smooth implementation of B&R initiative, to prevent various risks, to anticipate potential problems and to overcome potential obstacles, so that the beautiful vision of the peoples along the B&R can be achieved at an earlier date.
