Mr. Li received a degree of LL.M. from University of Wisconsin – Madison. Before that, he graduated from Shandong University of Finance and Economics and East China University of Political Science and Law, with bachelor degree in law, bachelor degree in economics and master degree in economic law respectively.
Mr. Li joined Jingtian & Gongcheng in 2019. Prior to joining Jingtian & Gongcheng, he worked at Han Kun Law Offices and King & Wood Mallesons' Funds Group for many years.
Mr. Li specializes in fund formation and operation, private equity and venture capital, mergers and acquisitions and asset management. The institutions with which he provides regular service include front-line VC institutions, private equity institutions, private equity subsidiaries of securities companies, industrial capital, government guidance funds, market-oriented fund of funds, insurance companies, state-owned enterprises, listed companies, family offices, etc. Mr. Li's practice cover venture capital funds, private equity funds, S funds, buyout funds, fund of funds, real estate funds, GP stake funds, QFLP/QDLP funds, etc.
In the area of fund formation and investment, Mr. Li has represented various well-known institutions in the formation of numerous RMB funds with super large size and involving complicated structures, participated in the formation of government guidance funds, evaluation and investment of sub-funds as the legal expert counsel of many government guidance funds, and represented well-known market-oriented fund of funds and insurance companies in investment in sub-funds. In the area of fund compliance, Mr. Li co-authored the Private Equity Investment Fund Industry Compliance Management Manual of the Asset Management Association of China and was invited by many financial regulatory authorities of China to provide expert advice on issuance and revision of local policies. Mr. Li has also represented numerous well-known investment institutions in completing domestic and foreign private equity/venture capital transactions.
