The French team of Jingtian & Gongcheng consists of experienced partners and lawyers focusing on overseas investment. The team is capable of leading complex investment and M&A transactions. The team members have all graduated from perstigous law schools in China and abroad, are qualified in China or France, and have years of domestic and/or international legal professional experience.           

The French team focuses on overseas M&As in the energy, resources, real estate, infrastructure, trade and industrial sectors, especially greenfield investment and brownfield investment.           

Since its establishment in early 2018, the French team of Jingtian & Gongcheng has been dedicated to the overseas investment of Chinese enterprise, especially in French speaking countries (including but not limited to the Democratic Republic of Congo (the “DRC”), Djibouti, Morocco, Republic of Guinea, etc.), including the full participation in the negotiation of the first mining collaboration agreement under the product sharing model in the mining field of the DRC and the assistance in the delivery of the project, and the full participation in the PPP project on the modernization transformation of the road Kasumbalesa-Sankana and the land port in the DRC, assisting the Chinese enterprise to successfully complete the first project whereby an African state collaborates with social capital in a range of large and complex investment and M&A projects in the field of international mining and energy.  

The clients of the French team of Jingtian & Gongcheng are mainly state-owned enterprises, central enterprises and large-scale private enterprises, etc. The French team of Jingtian & Gongcheng has working proficiency of Chinese, French, and English, and has a long-term and stable cooperative relationship with law firms in many foreign countries, especially the French-speaking countries, to ensure that they can jointly provide clients with complete, accurate and efficient services. • Provide daily legal services for overseas subsidiaries or branches of Chinese enterprises, including but not limited to contract review, improvement of contract management system, major project management, optimization of corporate structure, personnel training, overseas investment training, overseas investment preliminary work, and prevention of legal risk;
• Represent Chinese enterprises to negotiate with the local governmental authorities or transaction parties, in-depth analyze and engage in the project in the commercial, financial and legal aspects, so as to maximize the protection of the legitimate interests of Chinese enterprises and facilitate the efficient and stable implementation of the project.
