Johnny WANG graduated from East China University of Political Science and Law with bachelor degree in law.
Mr. WANG has worked in Jingtian & Gongcheng since 2017 and was approved to be a partner by the firm in 2023. Prior to this, he worked four years in other top-tier PRC law firms as a lawyer.
Mr. WANG specializes in private equity and venture capital, M&A and restructuring, general counsel, and foreign direct investment in the life sciences and health care industry. Mr. Wang was named one of the top 30 lawyers under 30 years old in mainland China in the "2021 LEGALBAND 30 Under 30 Lawyers List".
In the area of private equity and venture capital, Mr. Wang has been involved in over 100 PE/VC projects. He has assisted a number of well-known funds to complete their investments, and has also helped many life science companies at different stages of growth to complete their financing or mergers and acquisitions. As a result, Mr. Wang has a keen business sense and excellent communication skills, and is adept at identifying and addressing the needs of all parties to a transaction and ultimately realising the needs of his clients. In the area of specialized legal services, Mr. Wang has participated in a number of projects for clients in the healthcare industry, such as medical data compliance, human genetic resources management, digital marketing of healthcare companies, license-in/out, etc. He has assisted the team to complete the business model demonstration, transaction structure design and document drafting, and has extensive project execution experience.
Mr. Wang has represented clients in the life sciences and healthcare sectors including: CTHG Fund, Orbimed, LYFE Capital, Lightspeed Venture Capital, SBCVC, China Merchants Capital, Fosun Pharmaceutical, Medidata, ZSM etc. Mr. Wang is also responsible for the day-to-day legal affairs of a number of companies in the life sciences sector (all of which are leading companies in their respective segments).
Mr. WANG was admitted to PRC bar and is fluent in English as a working language.
