Wang Yu received his LL.B and LL.M degrees from Zhejiang University and National University of Singapore, respectively. Other than law degrees, he also obtained a degree of Master of Finance from Tulane University.
Mr. Wang joined Jingtian & Gongcheng in 2022. He has over 15 years of experience in corporate mergers and acquisitions, private equity investment, foreign investment and capital market. Prior to this, Mr. Wang worked in leading Chinese and foreign law firms, where he accumulated extensive experience.
Mr. Wang was awarded the “Top 15 Legal Rising Stars” by Asian Law Business (ALB), a “Special Recommended Lawyer in Field of Mergers and Acquisitions” by the Legal 500, a “Rising Star in the Field of Mergers and Acquisitions”, “Special Recommended Top 15” and “Automotive, New Energy and Emerging Partner” by Legalband, “China Business Legal Rising Star” by Business Law magazine and other honor. He also completed various projects, which were recognized as outstanding transactions of the year by China Business Law Journal.
Mr. Wang has advised numerous private equity investment funds (including US dollar/RMB denominated funds) in their equity investments and/or exit transactions with respect to onshore and offshore targets. He has also assisted enterprises at different development stages, ranging from startup stage, growth stage to pre-IPO stage, in their financing through equity, convertible bonds, subscription warrants and other forms of financing tools. Apart from the legal practice involving financial investments, Mr. Wang also represented domestic and foreign industrial institutions in various mergers and acquisitions, re-orgnizations and joint ventures based on restructuring, synergy and expansion with respect to various industries. He also provided legal services on design and implementation of the business cooperation arrangements related to the above-mentioned activities. In addition, he represented private companies to implement initial public offering and listing, as well as listed companies to engage in capital market related activities such as issuance of additional directional shares, acquisition, material asset reorganization, etc.. Mr. Wang's legal practice involves in numerous industries including traditional manufacturing industries (such as equipment manufacturing, precision processing, new energy vehicles, energy and chemicals, etc.) as well as TMT, semi-conductors, culture and media, education and training, healthcare, commercial retail, new consumption- related fields.
Mr. Wang was admitted to PRC bar.
