Mr. Zhao Xiao obtained his LL.B from Wuhan University Law School and his LL.M from Central University of Finance and Economics Law School.
Mr. Zhao has been working in Jingtian & Gongcheng since 2017 and was approved to be a partner by the firm in 2020 (prior to this, he had been working as a lawyer for 9 years at the Shine Lawyers).
Mr. Zhao is currently a member of the Labour and Social Security Law Committee of Beijing Lawyers Association. Mr. Zhao is experienced in providing legal services to large and medium-sized enterprises. Mr. Zhao is adept at providing high-quality employment and labor legal services for domestic and foreign enterprises, including representing clients in labor dispute cases and negotiations, dealing with non-competition and trade secret disputes, providing legal consultation, reviewing, drafting and revising policies and regulations and legal documents, and formulating layoff plans. In addition, Mr. Zhao has numerous successful cases in trade secret and talent contention, HR compliance, employee settlement, executive layoff, crisis management, labor dispatch and HR outsourcing as well as corporate control contention. Mr. Zhao has been invited by well-known institutions such as Wolters Kluwer and LexisNexis to hold seminars on labor law and retained as a special lecturer by Legal-Culture.

In a series of layoffs projects of a well-known listed company, he provided comprehensive legal services, including but not limited to: providing comprehensive solution, negotiating with staff, providing full review services for all the rules and regulations of company, including but not limited to: employment contract, employee handbook, attendance checking system and performance management rules.
In a series of layoffs projects of a well-known technology company, he provided overall legal solution for the resettlement of 107 employees as a result of the dismissal of 2C product line, including but not limited to: providing comprehensive solution, providing consulting service, drafting legal documents, communicating and coordinating with labor administrative authority, negotiating with employees and handling of aftermath.
In the layoffs projects of a technology company, he provided the company with a full set of employee placement plans, provided consulting services, and participated in multiple rounds of employee negotiations during the arbitration stage, and finally obtained a satisfactory result of the overall mediation.
In the senior management dismissal and stock repurchase project of a financial leasing company, he served as a company lawyer and provided legal services to the company, including but not limited to: formulating plans, drafting legal documents, and negotiating with senior management.
Provided legal services for a well-known e-commerce brand, and provided case agency services in employee labor dispute cases.
In a collective labor dispute case between a listed company and 25 employees, he provided case agency services for the company.
In a contract dispute case between a well-known media company and an actor, he acted as the company's attorney, providing services such as drafting a lawyer's letter and representing the case in court.
In a labor dispute between a senior executive and a well-known medical company, he served as a labor attorney and won the lawsuit and recovered more than RMB 2.3 million in salary losses for the senior executives.
