Since the outbreak of COVID-19 epidemic, Jingtian & Gongcheng has focused on Hubei in the first place and provided assistance to Wuhan immediately, supporting various prevention & control measures and actively responding to the public welfare. On January 26, 2020, the fund-raising initiative launched by the management committee of Jingtian & Gongcheng received positive responses from more than 100 partners. In less than 24 hours, the total amount of individual donation was nearly 1.5 million RMB.

 

Nearly one million RMB of the donated funds was instantly used to purchase the most urgently needed medical supplies such as anti-epidemic medical supplies, ventilators, cardiovascular monitors & medical gloves which were delivered to the forefront of Hubei Province. More than 500,000 RMB of the remaining funds have been donated to the "China Red Cross Foundation ByteDance Medical Workers Humanitarian Relief Fund" as humanitarian aid to frontline medical workers.

 

In order to ensure the donated supplies meet people's urgent needs and really help them, the management committee mobilized many partners and divided them into two groups. One group communicated with Hubei frontline hospitals, CDC and epidemic prevention headquarters in real time to understand the front-line real-time needs and assist in providing the supplies. The other group searched for epidemic prevention & protection supplies at home and abroad, communicated with relevant parties and placed orders according to the delivery schedule. The number of supplies consulted was actually more than ten times higher than the eventual successful purchase. The procurement and donation are summarized as follows:

 

 Donated 2 Flight Ventilators to Huanggang General Hospital and Central Hospital, Huangzhou District, Huanggang City, Hubei Province;

 

Donated 27 Mindray ipm8 ECG monitors to 13 hospitals in Hongan County, Huanggang City, Hubei Province;

 

Donated 83,000 pairs of disposable medical gloves to 14 hospitals in Huanggang City, Hubei Province;

 

Donated 5 sets of positive pressure protective clothing and    related professional instruments & accessories to Liu Liang Studio of Chongxin Judicial Expertise Center (Hubei), which undertook the medical examination of COVID-19;

 

Donated money to "China Red Cross Foundation ByteDance Medical Workers Humanitarian Relief Fund".

 

In addition to the action plan of the law firm, the colleagues of Jingtian & Gongcheng were also actively campaigning for epidemic prevention in Hubei, organizing donations, finding medical supplies, opening up logistics channels, assisting clients to set up medical mask factories, providing legal support for medical and pharmaceutical clients, and providing timely and professional services on legal issues during the epidemic prevention period.
