Mr. ZHENG Chenghai joined Jingtian & Gongcheng in 2018 as counsel. He has more than 10 years of experience in M&A. Before joining Jingtian & Gongcheng, he worked at prestigious French and Chinese law firms.
Mr. ZHENG is one of the few Chinese French lawyers. He has rich experience in energy, natural resources, mining and infrastructure sectors, and has in-depth understanding of the emerging markets in the African continent. Besides, Mr. ZHENG knows very well the OHADA laws, the legislations related to the mining industry and the PPP projects in the major African jurisdictions (including the DRC, Guinea, Zambia, Djibouti, Cote d’Ivoire, and Morocco).
Rich project experience and solid legal expertise enable Mr. ZHENG to take into account the commercial arrangements and desires, and feasibly and accurately advise Chinese companies in their overseas investment projects in the respects of the pre-transaction, mid-transaction and post-transaction risk control and innovative transaction structure. He can also use Chinese, French and English as working languages to negotiate on behalf of clients and draft cross-jurisdictional legal documents with great complexity.
Mr. ZHENG obtained his Master’s Degree in Commecial Law from Université Toulouse 1.
Mr. ZHENG is a lawyer at the Court of Appeals of Paris.

Mr. ZHENG is a mining arbitrator of Beihai Arbitration Commission/Beihai International Arbitration Institute.
