Recently the International Bar Association Arbitration Committee announced 12 new additions to the IBA Arb 40 at the Buenos Aires Conference, Ke Hu—Partner of Jingtian & Gongcheng was named one of them.
IBA Arb 40 stands for International Bar Association Arbitration Committee’s Under-40 Subcommittee, which is an organization of members under 40 who belong to International Bar Association Arbitration Committee. IBA Arb 40 was established 4 years ago, aiming to provide industry thought leadership for the new generation of arbitration professionals. Currently, IBA Arb 40 has completed practice manuals such as Toolkit for Award Writing, and Compendium of Good Practice of Arbitration to assist young arbitrators with their career development. This panel of arbitration committee will continue organizing global training seminars for young professionals in arbitration to exchange ideas, conduct topical research on international arbitration and information technology services.
Ke Hu, a partner in dispute resolution at Jingtian & Gongcheng, specializes in dispute resolution, with a focus on litigation and arbitration in cross-border commercial and IP-related matters. A seasoned litigator, he has represented clients in major arbitration proceedings involving foreign elements in Chinese Court as well as cases under the rule of domestic and international arbitration bodies such as CIETAC, BAC, HKIAC, ICC, SCC and SIAC. He resolves issues related to corporate matters, shareholder rights, joint venture, PE/VC investment, financing, trade, project, energy, entertainment and culture and technology licensing as well as judicial recognition and enforcement of overseas arbitral awards and court judgments. Mr. Hu is also familiar with investment arbitration and often advises clients on contractual protection for offshore investment. In 2018 he was recognized by “Who’s Who Legal” to be one of “Future Leaders” in international arbitration.
Mr. Hu is a representative of ICCA/Tsinghua Joint Working Group on Chinese Arbitration Practice, Co-rapporteur for Young ICCA, member of YSIAC. Prolific in professional publications on China, international business and investment arbitration, Mr. Hu is also a frequent guest speaker at many domestic and overseas industry conferences.
