小时候，父亲就像我们崇拜的超级英雄。

他可以把世界扛在肩上，

把所有坏掉的东西都修好。

但当我们长大后，

才发现这个超级英雄也是人。

他也会疲惫，也会沉默，

但他的爱始终如一，隐藏在我们身边。

他是教你骑车时偷偷放手的身影，

是电话里总是说 “一切都很好” 的声音。

When we were little,

 our father was just like a superhero that we admired to be.

 He could carry the world on his shoulder,

and fix everything that was broken.

But as we grew up,

we realized that this superhero is also human. He gets tired,

he stays quiet but yet, his love remains steady, hiding all around us.

He’s the figure that secretly let's go when teaching you how to ride a bike,

the voice on the phone who always says, “everything’s fine.” 

Even when he is struggling,

he still displays the gentlest and coolest appearance to you.

As time progresses,

technology advances and the world changes. Now,

maybe he struggles with the new gadgets and all the cool devices,

but he still shields you from life’s cruel storms. A father’s love is never loud;

 it remains in all the little moments that we ignore or take for granted.

Someday we shall be fathers,

and then we shall understand,

a fatherly figure is not only a responsibility,

but a continuation of one’s youthful heart.

He was also once a teen chasing his dreams,

and now he still is our safest haven.

This Father’s Day,

skip all the grand gestures,

just sit down and share a cup of tea.
