1, Sex and Constitution: Sex, Religion, and Law from America's Origins to the Twenty-First Century, Published in 2022, translated by Mr. He.

The author of this book is Geoffrey R. Stone, a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a constitutionalist, the former president of the American Constitution Society, the former provost and the former dean of the Law School of the University of Chicago. This book was translated into Chinese by Mr. He. Since the establishment of law, "sex" has always been a subject of legal regulation, and issues such as marriage, contraception, abortion, obscenity, and same-sex sexual behavior have been the subject of intense struggles in different eras. Sex and the Constitution begins with the ancient concepts of sexuality and sexual customs, and then moves from the founding of the United States to the evolution of American sexual morality and attitudes in the 19th and 21st centuries, and then on to the U.S. Supreme Court's decisions in Griswold v. Connecticut (contraception), Roe v. Wade (abortion), and Obergefell v. Hussey (same-sex marriage), among other sex-related cases. The heart-wrenching arguments and the vivid context of the times behind the decisions provide an epic account of the fascinating journey of 'sex' and 'law' as they collide with each other.

2, Defending the Guilty: Truth and Lies in the Criminal Courtroom, Published in 2017, translated by Mr. He.

This book is written by Alex McBride, a British criminal defense lawyer, and translated into Chinese by Mr. He. Like every criminal lawyer in the UK, Alex McBride spends almost every day in the courtroom, doing his job with a quick mind and a sharp tongue. The author narrates the scenes that take place in lawyers' offices, courtrooms and prisons, allowing readers not only to appreciate the daily work of lawyers, but also to enter into the author's heart and experience the psychological activities of lawyers when they try to defend their clients who are behind bars. He presents the reader not with a courtroom drama, but with a real trial, and with the history and reality of the British criminal justice system.
The book is written in a witty style, but within the playful rhetoric lurks a great dilemma that has existed since the dawn of civilization: how to ensure that the innocent are not wronged and that the guilty are punished appropriately? This problem is still far from being solved.

3, Crossing Hitler: The Man Who Put the Nazis on the Witness Stand, Published in 2014, translated by Mr. He.

This book was written by Benjamin Carter Hett, Professor of History at Hunter College of the City University of New York, and translated into Chinese by Mr. He. This book is a biography of the life of a legendary German lawyer. Hans Litten's father was the rector of the University of Königsberg. Forced by his father's order, he gave up his beloved literature and embarked on the path of law to become a lawyer. When he was 27 years old, the Nazis were already in power, and in order to expose the violent nature of the Nazis, he applied to the court to summon Hitler to appear as a witness in a criminal case created by the storm troopers, and utilized Goebbels' pamphlets advocating a violent revolution, which scandalized Hitler in court. As a result, he became one of the first prisoners to be thrown into a concentration camp when Hitler came to power and was tortured by the SS. Since then, thanks to the efforts of his mother, a number of German and British dignitaries have tried to intercede, only to find that Litten's name has become taboo for the Great Dictator. Litten was 34 years old when he died in the camp, but today he is synonymous with German lawyers, and the German Bar Association, as well as the street on which the German Law Society is located, are named after him.

4, David Hackett Souter: Traditional Republican on the Rehnquist Court, Published in 2013, translated by Mr. He.

This book is written by Tinsley E. Yarbrough, a professor in the Department of Political Science at East Carolina University, and translated into Chinese by Mr. He. David Souter is the most low-key and mysterious justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. He hardly uses any electrical appliances; he always eats only an apple and a cup of yogurt at noon; he never gives interviews and refuses to go out to lecture. All of this, however, has not prevented him from delivering a series of far-reaching and brilliant opinions in judicial areas such as the death penalty, abortion rights, and intellectual property. When Suter was nominated by President George W. Bush Sr. at the end of the last century, he was still regarded by many as a holdout redneck and conservative. By the time he retired in 2009, he was recognized as an open-minded, free-thinking, intellectually brilliant justice who was respected and loved by all sectors of the community. The authors of this book have conducted in-depth interviews and obtained a large amount of valuable information to comprehensively restore the wonderful experience and judicial career of David Souter, the highly popular "hermit" justice.
