Voting for the Council election of The Law Society of Hong Kong took place at the Society’s Annual General Meeting held on 24 August 2021. Partner of Jingtian & Gongcheng, Mr. Jimmy Chan was elected as one of the 16 council members of The Law Society of Hong Kong with the most votes. He was also the only attorney from a firm with Mainland China background. Jingtian & Gongcheng congratulates Mr. Chan on his election! 

With a history of 114 years and 12,000 members, the Law Society of Hong Kong holds Annual General Meetings every year as per its charter and elects 5 most senior members to the governing council. As one of the candidates pledging “professionalism”, Jimmy Chan advocates a focus on the legal matters and received the most votes. He will be serving the legal affairs in Hong Kong as the new council member and supporting the legal profession in contributing to the further development of the Greater Bay Area.
