Mr Wang Jianlin has 20 years of experience in customs law practice, and his main practice areas are customs compliance, dispute resolution, and criminal defense. Before joining Jingtian & Gongcheng, Mr Wang worked in customs for a long time. Mr Wang has provided annual or specialised legal services to renowned domestic and international companies such as Alibaba Cloud, BGI Genomics, MGI Tech Co., Ltd., GAC Honda, USI, China National Pharmaceutical Foreign Trade Corporation, SK Hynix, PRADA, and etc. Mr Wang has represented in a number of smuggling cases and achieved good results such as non-prosecution, probation, change of sentence and reduction of sentence, and one of the cases led by him was selected as a typical case by Guangdong Lawyers Association in 2019.

Mr Wang currently serves as a member of the Foreign-related Criminal Professional Committee of Guangdong Lawyers Association, a member of the Foreign-related Legal Professional Committee of Guangzhou Lawyers Association, and he has been selected as a Chinese expert of the Customs and Trade Facilitation Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), a Leading Talent of Foreign-Related Lawyer in Guangzhou, and a hearing officer at the Guangzhou People’s Procuratorate. Furthermore, Mr Wang has been recommended by The Legal 500 as a “WTO/International Trade” lawyer and a “Guangdong Province: Guangzhou and Shenzhen” lawyer. Mr Wang has been also recognised by the Asian Legal Business as one of the Top 15 South China Rising Lawyers and has been recommended in the “International Trade and Customs Law” field in the LEGALBAND China Top Rank Lawyers 2024.
